Usually students spend the first two years exploring and discovering a wide variety of subjects. The last two years are when most of the specialization takes place. There are, of course, exceptions: some students know very early in their careers what they will major in. Some, indeed, wish to add a more explicitly professional component to their studies. The specialized College majors and minors, and the various inter-school and pre-professional programs, allow students to prepare themselves for many different roles

 

Welcome to the Department of English at Golden Int’l Language Academy one of the nation’s most dynamic centers for the study of literature, language, and writing. Our distinguished faculty includes senior scholars who have earned international reputations for their ground-breaking work as well as junior members who are charting new disciplinary pathways both within the field of literary study and by forging links with other fields. The Department offers a varied curriculum in English and Chinese Literature, emphasizing literary history, theory, and criticism. In addition to the Bachelor degree and Master degrees, the Department offers a choice of two graduate degrees in Creative Writing.

Students attend lectures, forums, readings, and discussions. Many advanced graduate students receive support to present their research and writing at national conventions and publish papers and creative writing in scholarly journals and national magazines.
